Flavor, Style and Spice make LaFrida a work of art

Chef Antonio de Livier creates Cabo cuisine by way of Boston

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico - (March 16, 2006) - Talented Chef Antonio de Livier is creating a sensation at the newly opened LaFrida Restaurant with his elegantly innovative approach to Mexican cuisine. De Livier's intriguing menus are uniquely suited to the stylish ambiance of this Mexican-themed restaurant, which celebrates the renowned artist Frida Kahlo.

De Livier is Mexican by birth, eclectically international in his approach to food and its preparation. Since childhood he has harbored a passion for the special qualities of Mexican foods - their tastes, textures and abundant variety. At LaFrida, he combines the best of local fish, seafood, meats and fresh organic vegetables and spices in his own artistically adventuresome recipes, creating delicious nuances and intricate layers of delicate flavors. The result is a menu that brings elegance and a joyful exuberance to contemporary Mexican cuisine.

De Livier was born and educated in Mexico and speaks fluent Spanish, Portuguese and English. His passion for cooking took him to the U.S. for further study and to work with talented chefs in an international atmosphere. He was formerly with the acclaimed Great Bay Restaurant in Boston, which has lent an authentic Boston accent to his perfect command of English.

De Livierwho prefers to be called Tonio - feels perfectly at home as chef at LaFrida. "My roots have always been in Mexico, and here I have the ideal opportunity to create the type of cuisine that does justice to the special beauty of my homeland."

LaFrida opened to instant acclaim in April 2005 in Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The spectacular dining room, with indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the Pacific Ocean, was designed by master Guadalajara architect José Luís Orozco. Paintings and fascinating remembrances of Frida Kahlo are an intrinsic part of the restaurant's elegant and dramatic décor.
