CABO PACIFICA, MEXICO (January 3, 2005) - Located on the pristine Pacific Ocean side of the Baja Peninsula in Cabo San Lucas, Pacifica Holistic Retreat & Spa will surround guests with a sublime yet subdued setting incorporating the organic elements that envelop the property, including astounding views of the Pacific and a desert themed lush landscape.
The Concept and Essence
The ocean greets guests from every peaceful, airy and stylish public space offering a calm and relaxing retreat. Water is everywhere - from the sparkling sea to fountains, water walls, flowing streams and mists. An astounding collection of cactus and native plants abounds amidst reflecting pools and soothing aquatic displays. At the entrance to the sleek new hostelry, corridors sport monochromatic colors with original mosaic artwork insets, soaring onyx panels, and huge open air spaces overlooking cactus gardens and stunning ocean views. The ochre, sand, caramel, banana colors of floors, walls and fabrics blend with the desert sand. Spots of colorful cactus blooms accent the landscaped gardens throughout the resort. Natural rock formations and polished pebbles outline geometric designs in floorings, walkways, and gardens. Soothing music, quiet efficiency and peacefulness surround you.
Accommodations
Accommodations reflect the resort's motif of luxury without indulgence and are concise and minimally dressed, featuring the finest natural materials, Zen-inspired amenities and invigorating ocean views. The 154 guest rooms are decorated in tasteful panels of sand and ivory window treatments, concrete valences forming a smooth clean visual transition from bed to sea. Accents of pink onyx inlaid in the guestroom doors allow sunlight to enter and fill the room with warm calming hues.
Restaurant and Bars
Pacifica's unique restaurant, Siempre, features continuous dining with market fresh ingredients highlighted in both the wellness-oriented spa menu and a more indulgent 'splurge' menu. The restaurant is surrounded by water elements and features a dramatic light beam in the center. In addition, 24-hour room service, the pool bar Aire and two additional cafes and bars (one of them a juice bar) will satisfy any taste.
The Spa
The centerpiece of the retreat is Armonia, a modern holistic spa and fitness facility. Services at Armonia include a state-of-the-art exercise studio, six treatment rooms with 'waterfall' windows, a VIP couples chamber, an indoor jacuzzi, steam, sauna, cold plunge, Swiss shower room, and a assortment of treatments performed by on-site trained, certified therapists and personalized to individual needs and tastes.
Fitness professionals will plan workout regimes to achieve each guest's personal requests and create a Body Plan for their stay. One-on-one sessions as well as progressive group exercise classes will be available. Aerobic, Yoga, tai chi, and sand exercises will also be offered.
Dr. Alejandro Santander, general manager of Pacifica and a long-time practicing physician, personally oversees the spa and fitness facilities. The unique appointment of a youthful medical doctor represents the philosophy of the hotel owner. Guests will visit Pacifica to rest, relax, and revive the body. Private consultations with Dr. Santander will be available.

Pool and Outdoor Activities

Behind the Scenes
Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Holistic Retreat and Spa was designed for beauty and efficiency while being respectful of the environment. "Second" hallways and underground passageways and service areas were constructed to allow for staff to move swiftly and discreetly throughout the property. All of the water used for drinking, cooking, gardening, laundry, pools, and displays is desalinated sea water processed and continuously recycled in an on-property, state-of-the-art facility.
