5 Reasons to Visit Quivira Golf Club this Summer

More than once, Quivira Golf Club at Quivira Los Cabos (Pueblo Bonito’s premier golf club) has received the Editors' Choice award for Best Golf Resort in Mexico and Central America from Golf Digest. We’re so humbled to have earned top rankings from amongst the many beautifully curated courses in the region, and we want you to come, stay with us, and play a round. Already have a lot planned this summer? Here are five reasons why booking a round of golf at Quivira is a must-add on your list.

  1. Amazing Golf-  To quote Golf Digest, “At the tip of Baja Sur is the newest of more than a dozen Jack Nicklaus layouts in Mexico, and perhaps his most compelling, with holes along and atop granite cliffs and sand dunes overlooking the Pacific.” And we couldn’t agree more. Indeed, the routing of our Jack Nicklaus Signature Quivira Los Cabos golf course starts on the beach before climbing to higher ground for unparalleled views of the Pacific. The diversity of the holes, from cacti and arroyos in rolling desert foothills to windswept dunes and cliffs, is supreme and unparalleled amongst other courses in the region. But you don’t have to be the best to play on the best; situated beside the clubhouse is one of the most welcome sights in all of golf: a spacious, double-ended practice facility that parallels the ocean, with the sandy beach and rolling surf a mere wedge shot away from the verdant turfgrass.
  2. Fantastic Comfort Stations- True to their name, we’d like to draw your attention to the comfort stations you’ll find during a round of golf at Quivira Golf Club. Beckoning golfers to four oases in the rough— one positioned on the range, a second on the cliff tops overlooking the water, a third just before the eighth tee, and a fourth at hole #15— golfers are invited to pause, refresh, and refuel along their way. Staffed by Pueblo Bonito’s celebrated chefs, each comfort station invites golfers to indulge in made-to-order fresh fish tacos, quesadillas, tostadas, and other delicacies, as well as hand-crafted cocktails and beer. It’s true a round of golf may take a little longer, but what’s the rush? An informal golfing experience is sure to grow the appeal of the game for amateurs. Plus, Quivira Golf Club marshals each comfort station to manage pace of play; more serious players with their eyes on the scorecard won’t be inhibited by your need to relax.
  3. Spectacular Views- One of the reasons we maintain such immaculate groundskeeping is due to the course’s exclusivity; owners and guests of Quivira Los Cabos and Pueblo Bonito Golf & Spa Resorts are the only golfers with access to the course, its amenities, and spectacular ocean views. From the moment it opened, Quivira Golf Club won praise from golfers around the world. Golf Magazine named it the “Best New International Golf Course'' when it opened in 2014, and since then, the dazzling 7,085-yard layout has been voted to Golf Digest’s elite roster of the “World’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses.” With more oceanfront exposure than any other course in the destination, the breathtaking panoramic views make a lasting impression on players young and old.
  4. Breakfast at the Quivira Clubhouse– Set the tone for the day with a decidedly elegant, decidedly delicious breakfast. A bit more intimate than many of Pueblo Bonito’s other resort brunches, breakfast at Quivira Clubhouse features elaborate dishes including perfectly caramelized French toast, skillet-tossed pan cakes, and yeasted waffles, all made from scratch. Order eggs any way, including local favorites, eggs rancheros and Mexican-style eggs with beef machaca, plus made-to-order omelets. Or you can any one of our chef specials finished with house-made sauces and slow-cooked beans. A full bar is available for all your beverage needs, including fresh fruit juices, as well as a dedicated mimosa and Bloody Mary bar. Quivira Sunday Brunch is part of the all-inclusive package for Sunset Beach and Pacifica Resorts, and free shuttle transport to and from the meal is available.
  5. Sunset Dinner at Quivira Steakhouse- The Quivira Golf Clubhouse is the perfect complement to the Quivira golf experience. A thatched-roof oasis located between the first tee and the 18th hole, it is a natural gathering spot for golfers to “talk shop” after a round. A crowd favorite for post-game drinks, the Quivira Steakhouse menu features mouthwatering deep-fried calamari, luscious creamy pastas, crisp salads, and the finest prime cuts and seafood accompanied by fabulous sides and sauces. Not to mention, we have an international wine selection and hand-crafted cocktails. Indoor and outdoor dining is offered from late afternoon through evening, just in time to dine at sunset. Make your dinner reservation between 5:30 to 10:00 pm.
