Coming soon: Pueblo Bonito Vantage San Miguel de Allende
We’ve done it again, and in one of the most beautiful cities in Mexico; another property designed for the discerning traveler. However, this property will be the first of our new brand, Pueblo Bonito Vantage, a collection of hotels created for travelers seeking superior service, high-end design, and curated cultural immersion in unique and thriving urban settings. Pueblo Bonito Vantage San Miguel de Allende will offer refined hospitality, upscale accommodations, oversized suites, enhanced amenities, and superior guest service, and it will be all yours to experience when it opens in 2024.
Designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 2008, San Miguel de Allende—named the world’s best city and most enchanting destination by Travel + Leisure—has been charming visitors for nearly 500 years. The city is renowned for its baroque Spanish architecture, thriving arts scene, culinary experiences, and cultural celebrations.
Pueblo Bonito Vantage San Miguel de Allende is being built in homage to the city’s architectural heritage while accentuating guest comfort. Its hacienda-style buildings will comprise 111 well-appointed guest rooms and suites in one wing and 45 privately-owned villas and multi-bedroom condominiums in another. All rooms and residences, designed in a neo-colonial style, will feature terraces with outstanding views of the city’s historic downtown. The hotel also will offer banquet space for groups and a beautiful grass area for weddings and events overlooking the city’s magnificent neo-Gothic landmark church—Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel.
The hotel is situated in the District Corazón (the Heart District) in a traffic-free zone in front of Zeferino Gutierrez Park and is a quick 10-minute stroll from downtown and the historic center. From the hotel’s rooftop bar and terrace, which offers a stunning view of the emblematic San Miguel Parish, guests will feel the magic of San Miguel de Allende.
Pueblo Bonito Resorts already has eight properties in Los Cabos and Mazatlán, including several that have been recognized by Condé Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure. But none like this—the first of the new Pueblo Bonito Vantage brand.
“This is our first urban property, and we’re creating a totally different ambience for the Vantage brand,” said Alberto Coppel, CEO, Pueblo Bonito Resorts. “Guests will be immersed in elegance and a refined atmosphere, with a residential component and resort-style amenities.”
In-room amenities will include L’Occitane bath amenities (Bulgari amenities in suites), plus bathrobes, a pillow menu, Nespresso coffee machine, electric kettle, and Bose Bluetooth speaker.
Positioned as a luxury leader, the San Miguel de Allende property will offer a full-service spa, a wellness center, fitness center, beauty salon, bridal suite, and retail shop.
Among the hotel’s dining options will be a new location of our famed LaFrida restaurant, serving gourmet Mexican cuisine; a rooftop bar serving drinks, tapas, and snacks; and 24-hour room service.
In San Miguel and at other Pueblo Bonito Vantage properties, the V Life program—a collection of experiences in which guests and residents may immerse—will be offered. Based around four pillars: gastronomy, culture/art, history, and nature/lifestyle, activities include language immersion, vineyard visits in Central Mexico’s exceptional wine region, art classes, and guided cultural walks. Tours to landmarks in San Miguel de Allende and vicinity also will be offered, including Guanajuato, Querétaro and the Pueblo Mágico (“magic town”) of Dolores Hidalgo, about 30 minutes away.
Pueblo Bonito Vantage San Miguel de Allende will be the first of its kind, but we’re already making plans for additional properties.

In addition to all the reasons already stated, we think you’ll fall in love the city that surrounds our Vantage oasis. Founded in the 16th century, the charming cultural center is known for its rich and accessible history. Named the 2019 American Capital of Culture, tourists the world over come to explore its myriad cobblestone streets lined with pastel colored, colonial era buildings and discover the city’s hidden gems, all in the heart of Mexico’s Guanajuato. And as a “Vantage” guest, you’ll have a front row seat.
Historic Places
We already mentioned the city’s UNESCO status, but there’s more than meets the eye. La Parroquía, while arguable the city’s most famous landmark, isn’t the only site worth seeing. Take a visit to the Sanctuary of Atotonilco, too. Affectionately known as Mexico’s ‘Sistine Chapel’, it’s one of the best examples of the city’s colorful amalgamation of Spanish, Creole, and Amerindian style and design. The site is famous for its murals of angels and demons and jaw-dropping Mexican Baroque interior. Revolutionary leader, Ignacio Allende, and the rebel army stopped here en route to San Miguel to pick up the banner of Our Lady of Guadalupe to use as their flag and is considered to be the place where the march to Independence began.
A Spectrum of Color
See San Miguel de Allende and see color. Many buildings from the Spanish colonial era are colourful, from orange and blue church towers and domes to the canary yellow walls of Centro Cultural Ignacio Ramirez ‘El Nigromante’, a former convent-turned-art institute. Government regulations require streets and buildings get painted bold, autumnal hues (warm browns, reds, yellows), which makes for a vibrant city to walk around.
After World War II, many soldiers took advantage of the GI bill and enrolled in art schools in San Miguel, the first of which opened here in 1938. There is still a vibrant arts community with many studios and galleries hosting working artists and artisans. The Fabrica La Aurora is probably one of the largest with more than 60 studios and galleries that’s housed in a former textile factory. But the streets are lined with inviting shops selling all kinds of crafts, and there are dozens of galleries showcasing both local and international artists just waiting for you to stop in.
Celebrating Life
Hardly a weekend goes by without some kind of parade, festival, or celebration in San Miguel’s “centro.” Most activities take place in front of La Parroquía de San Miguel Arcángel. Or, create your own adventure by lifting off in a hot air balloon. Early each morning, balloons rise from the edges of the city and drift peacefully over the suburbs, fields, lakes, stables, vineyards and, if the wind direction allows, the historic center. 650 meters above ground, it’s a tranquil experience, with passing herons for company. From the air, you can pick out the Parroquia’s pink spires, the peachy tower of the Oratory of San Felipe Neri, and the yellow dome of the Church of the Immaculate Conception.
Twilight to Midnight
Our sunsets (and sunrises) are spectacular, and it’s not just our opinion; colors are said to be more dramatic because of the way light is refracted and reflected off of the Sierra Madre foothills. If you plan to spend your evenings out, simply grab a table in the plaza, bath in the golden light of the magic hour and look skyward. Then later—a lot later, if you follow the habits of the locals—get into the city center for a night out.
Live the V Life
But you don’t even have to leave the building to enjoy an enriching experience. As we mentioned above, the V Life of Pueblo Bonito Vantage includes a variety of programming based on four pillars: gastronomy, culture/art, history, and nature/lifestyle. Learn everything there is to know about tequila, its history, its myths, and how to enjoy it at a Tequila Tasting. Catch “Chef to the Fire,” a unique show featuring dinner, music, wine, and friends, while watching the world go by around you. Take a Cooking Class to gain culinary expertise while preparing one of the dishes from our acclaimed menu of Mexican dishes. Like wine? Enjoy a guided sommelier pairing that features extraordinary wines, cheeses, and breads. Channel your inner painter and create your own art under the guidance of a guest painter, who will teach different techniques that you can try on your personal canvas. These and so much more are available to fill your days.
