Medano Beach: Why it’s One of the Best Beaches in Cabo

Beaches are something we’ve no shortage of in Cabo; just take your pick! Spend your holiday exploring a different beach each day! Or perhaps you haven’t the time or desire to trek somewhere new and you’d rather get to know our tried and true, go-to beach when we have to choose just one. If that’s the case, we’ll be happy to sharecrowds are proof it’s not only ours, after all. In fact, we’ll tell you all about it, so that when you visit, you’ll be able to make the most of your time.

As soon as you arrive at Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos Beach Resort, you may feel as if you’ve landed in the Mediterranean. Cool blues. Warm ochres, luscious fuchsias, and bright, prismatic whites will insist you keep your sunglasses on. But no! These colors paint the scene of a very different resort destination deep in the heart of Cabo San Lucas on the Baja peninsula. Far from the pebbled coastlines of Europe, Baja boasts a soft and gentle shoreline, begging for your bare feet while you keep an eye on the red rocks that tourists cross oceans to see. That’s right, when you’re here, we make Médano Beach our playground, its white sands reflecting the color on our resort walls. Médano Beach—if we had to choose just one—is it.

El Médano Beach is the centerpiece of Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos and Pueblo Bonito Rosé resorts with every accommodation, bar, and dining outlet situated on its edge to take full advantage of the iconic views of Land’s End and El Arco. El Arco, or “the arch,” is a wildly popular and well photographed stone structure that’s sure to impress. Known far and wide, the naturally formed limestone arch is nature’s way of marking “land’s end” at the tip of the Baja Peninsula. You can see it from a number of perspectives along El Médano Beach, all which offer gorgeous views of El Arco during twilight. Relax with your love and bask in the glow of a warm sea breeze—like the Mediterranean, only better. Build a sandcastle, read a book, or simply enjoy the dazzling sunset.

But there’s more! More to do when you visit Playa Médano. Famous for its soft golden sands and warm, calm waters, it’s perfect for a relaxing swim, snorkeling, and paddleboarding. Playa Médano’s, two-mile strip of sand and its abutting water enjoys protection from the surrounding geography, creating a calm swell of the bay that’s perfect for paddling and floating. Whether you’re new to the activity or have done it before, we promise you’ll be able to relax and explore the shores without a care in the world. Sitting, standing, or even doing yoga, a paddleboard doesn’t discriminate against age or ability. A handful of tour groups and adventure companies provide certified guides who will teach you how to tackle the ocean waters on your newly loved watersport. With the early hours of the day casting hopeful ripples in the water around you, paddling on the bay is sure to inspire and invigorate. If it’s snorkeling you’d like to try, you can do that here, too.

When you get hungry, Medano Beach has you covered on that front, too. Cilantros, Las Palomas, Sunsets and Sushi Bar, and Mare Nostrum all have sweeping panoramic views for diners who desire it. And why wouldn’t you; food always tastes better alfresco. But we’ll do you one better by inviting you to take a seat on the beach itself. Juicy burgers, thick sandwiches, snacks and refreshing drinks are the top menu items at the Pueblo Bonito Rose & Los Cabos poolside bars. The stunning views of Land's End and the Sea of Cortez are complimentary.

Speaking of views, we think one of the best on the Pueblo Bonito Rosé property–if not the one right from your room, is that from Bella Vita Terrace. Not surprisingly, it’s one of our most popular wedding venues with couples desiring a background almost as special as they are. Ideal for a wide variety of occasions, this beautiful terrace venue perfectly highlights your special moment while offering stunning views of the stone arch at Land’s End beyond.

Ready to put your toes in the sand? When in Los Cabos…relax! Reserve your stay today and get wet at El Médano Beach.
